Cloud Upgrade – Friday 16 August 2019

As SACU continues to grow in popularity – we now have hundreds of thousands of students from over 2000 UK schools who regularly use our research tools to explore their future options – we have needed to expand our cloud infrastructure from time to time. To enable us to continue to offer a great service we will once again be enhancing our cloud provision, doubling our capacity and moving to the latest generation of Oracle cloud. This means that over the last 14 months we will have quadrupled our hosting capacity.

All services – student, school & university – will be down from 9am on Friday 16 August

To do this smoothly, we will need to go offline for a time to enable us to carry out these planned upgrades. We understand that this is occurring the day after A level Results are released and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. As we are also changing our cloud environment, a DNS change is required. This can take up to 48 hours to propagate. If you are a School, College or University who use our services please be assured that no action needs to be taken from your end. All services should again be available the following day.
